Feeling resistant to prep for birth?
If you’re feeling resistance when it comes to birth prep, I urge you to keep reading!
I know what you’re thinking..
”Birth is too unpredictable to prepare for”
”I don’t want to get my hopes up, what if I fail?”
”I went to antenatal classes last time. It worked out nothing like they told me it would”.
”My pregnancy is high risk so it’s not like I have any choices anyway”
”I’m not the expert here; I’ll just do what my midwife/Dr suggests and it will be fine surely?”
”What if I said what I wanted and something went wrong? Then it would all be my fault”.
These feelings are SO normal! All things people joining our courses have felt before starting. But it doesn’t have to be this way.
These feelings that come from your subconscious fears, are pushing you to disengage, take no responsibility for and have no agency in your birth.
When you feel nerves or discomfort or ignorance about anything, the easiest way for your brain to protect you, is to ignore it. Leaning into those difficult feelings is HARD.
The thing is with birth- you have no choice but to face them. Whether now, during pregnancy, face on when you’re giving birth, or after your baby is born looking back on everything that happened.
Facing these uncomfortable feelings now, when you hold the power to change them, find answers and access support is going to CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I really promise it is. And I really promise I can help you get there.
So where to start?
Journal/Meditate/Pause to think
”What is it that’s holding you back from getting prepared?” Sit with this question for a while.. and see where it takes you.
